Sounds about right

It's that time of year when people are thinking about taking their Summer break, perhaps by flying off to a far-flung exotic location or driving to a location nearer to home.

It's on such occasions that we shoot video clips - with camcorders, mobile phones and even digital stills cameras.

Have you noticed that, even when pictures are reasonably good, the sound you're hearing is largely unremarkable?

It's amazing what a difference a good sound-track will make to your video, however basic the project is. With a low-cost video editing program like Adobe Premiere Elements 7 you can do a great deal to enhance the sound to the point where your sound-track will shine.
As part of my new 5-DVD tutorial set entitled "Getting started with Premiere Elements 7" I talk you through the process of adding additional sound tracks to your video project and then mixing them in a way that's much like the process used by professional movie-makers.

Thanks to huge developments in software design, good sound mixing isn't nearly as difficult as you might think. With a fabulous program like Premiere Elements 7 even a complete beginner can be dropping music, sound effects and even a spoken commentary into a project and mixing it together in much the same way as would a professional.

To give you an idea of what I mean, have a look at this sample module, entitled "Adding music and mixing sound", from DVD Disc 4:
